BSc, National University of Science and Technology MISiS) → MSc, Skoltech
Applied Computational Mechanics offers a variety of disciplines, from mechanics to applied programming and materials science, with an emphasis on practical application of knowledge. I was impressed by the choice of subjects: students can create their own schedules and choose courses according to their interests. Such courses as Computational Methods in Atomistic Simulations and Introduction to Materials Informatics I find especially useful for my future thesis and career. Professors actively support students in their studies and research activities, sharing their experiences. International cooperation and internships help to gain valuable knowledge and expand prospects. I appreciate my surroundings — wonderful guys who strive for success and support each other. The choice of Skoltech and the Applied Computational Mechanics program turned out to be successful and provides excellent opportunities for networking, experience exchange and career development.

BSc, Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute (MEPhI) → MSc, Skoltech
This program is for those who don't want to just sit in a classroom but aspire to do real computational mechanics, be it studying the intricacies of complex physical non-linear phenomena in compressible continua like detonation waves or delving into multiphase petroleum industrial modeling, or applying mechanical formulae in more exotic contexts like traffic flow. The flexible course structure of this program is very attractive. Apart from mandatory courses, one can tailor the courses to individual needs and interests. Recommended courses allow you to specialize in a particular area of computational mechanics, like the simulation of compressible flows, and touch on cutting-edge research in the chosen fields. All the courses give practical, readily applicable knowledge and are read by a team of top-notch specialists currently working in the fields they tell us about and excited to share their know-how.
    Daria Demeshko
