about the program
The program focuses on developing the Engineering Systems students' critical skills, understanding, and mastery to lead and shape up the digital transformation of industries and the development of cyber-physical systems, aerospace, and high technology industrial products in all fields on Earth and in Space. The program's main objective is to educate students with the competencies and digital know-how that will enable them to support and play leading roles in the real-life implementation of digital engineering, robotics, space technologies, and science. We teach students to find creative and sustainable solutions to the critical challenges that a wide range of industries including but not limited to aerospace, energy, and robotics.

The program offers academic mobility on a competitive basis to world-leading universities and research centers.

graduates of the program will be able to:
develop a holistic view of competitive products and complex systems
conceive, design, implement and operate complex systems in all fields including robotics, modern transportation systems and aerospace systems
create new services in navigation, communications, earth observation, and space weather
    design robots, robotics technologies, intelligent embedded systems and sensors, and VR solutions
    conduct new observations and measurements from space
    design, build and test your own product/system including a satellite (CubeSat)
    build a career or create a startup in the field of digital engineering, product engineering, space, robotics, and VR
    pursue PhD studies including a dual-degree and collaboration with international universities
    The 2-year program comprises of compulsory and recommended elective courses on the most important topics, a wide set of elective courses (depending on the research and professional needs of the student), components of entrepreneurship and innovation, research activity and 8 weeks of industry immersion.

      applications for competitive selection can be submitted online. Most of the selection process is conducted online, and only the final stage of the selection is conducted offline at Skoltech campus

      Every candidate must take an online profile test. You will be notified by email about the specific date and time of your test.

      final stage
      The final selection stage takes place in Moscow. You have to pass the English exam on site, or present a valid proof of English proficiency, pass an in-person interview and entrepreneurship challenge. Extra written examinations may be required for certain programs during this time (you will be notified in advance). In case you're not from Moscow, we can accommodate you in the Skoltech dorms for the selection weekend period.

      knowledge, skills and education background for successful enrollment into the program
      knowledge and skills:
      Student profile: curiosity for engineering, science, and technology; self-motivated; active.

      Programming skills: MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Julia (at least one of the mentioned languages).
      Relevant Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent in engineering, applied mathematics, applied physics, aerospace-related, transportation, and other advanced technology areas (i.e. computer sciences).
