Master of Science
in Information Systems and Technology
The program is a synergy of digital technologies,engineering science, and applied mechanics. It is aimed at the development of simulation-driven design of advanced materials, structures, and engineering systems with enhanced lifecycle and improved mechanical and physical characteristics demanded in high-tech industries. It prepares the next generation of researchers, engineers, and practitioners to assume the role of technical leadership in research and innovation. Students learn the scientific fundamentals and state-of-the-art technologies in the areas of advanced composite materials, additive manufacturing, computational engineering, and digital design.

Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology
Skoltech is a new global research university created in collaboration with MIT. The new campus, designed by Herzog de Meuron, is home to 40 world-class labs with best-in-class equipment, globally renowned professors and students from 40+ countries.

Education
The MSc program is 2 years long: the first year is to strengthen your theoretical background, and the second year is to focus on research. Students have the freedom to choose courses and extracurricular activities to shape their individual trajectory, acquire soft skills, and gain entrepreneurial skills to prepare for employment.

Our graduates will have:
fundamental knowledge in mechanics and physics of advanced manufacturing and materials, in advanced computational engineering technologies
deep understanding of modern technological methods and tools, information-technology-based manufacturing and product development practices

Program structure:
The 2-year program comprises of compulsory and recommended elective courses on the most important topics, a wide set of elective courses (depending on the research and professional needs of the student), components of entrepreneurship and innovation, research activity and 8 weeks of industry immersion.

Skoltech Center for Design, Manufacturing and Materials (CDMM)
was established in March 2015 as a Center of Research, Education and Innovation (CREI) of Skoltech that conducts basic and applied research aimed at development and implementation of new design and manufacturing concepts, at creating advanced, lightweight and reliable materials and structures with enhanced lifecycle widely demanded in various industries

Knowledge and skills:
Successful candidates will have solid knowledge of Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering.
Education:
Bachelor's degree, or its equivalent in Physics, Mechanics, Material Science, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics.
English Language:
If your education has not been conducted in English, you will be expected to demonstrate evidence of an adequate level of English proficiency.

The final admissions stage will take place online this year. You will need to pass an interview with the admissions committee, participate in an entrepreneurship challenge and take an English language test. Extra written examinations may be required for certain programs during this time (you will be notified in advance).

A significant fact about my study program is that all of our courses are very practical and help to develop essential skills for engineers. At the beginning of the academic year, we had an Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing Technologies course, during which our group had a chance to apply our theoretical knowledge in practice. We managed to make a composite material using various techniques during laboratory work with our own hands. Usually, I spend almost my day at Skoltech, working on the projects, assignments and also spending my free time communicating with other Skoltech students.

The knowledge obtained in the AMT laboratories and in Data Science courses helped me implement a monitoring system in the advanced metal 3D printing process during my summer internship, and then very quickly adapt to tasks from other areas. The education I received at Skoltech allowed me to participate in the design of the ballistic mission and the control system of the launch vehicle. Many thanks to Skoltech, which allowed me not only to form in my head a system of knowledge and skills necessary for further professional activity but also to obtain valuable life experience.

AMT provides access not only to the most prominent manufacturing technologies but also to modern engineering digital toolset. Besides, I liked the inspiring atmosphere and novelty-oriented people with different backgrounds and views on the same problem. It seems to me that my friend suggested me a great place for MSc!
