In 2016, Sergey Shmakov, MSc in Biotechnology and currently a Skoltech PhD student, won the prestigious USA National Institutes of Health Director's Pioneer Award for his outstanding genetics research. The award is presented annually to honor scientists for their remarkable achievements and leadership skills

Relevant bachelor's degree, or its equivalent
in Biology, Chemistry, Agro, IT, Physics, Medicine, Mathematics
English language:
If your education has not been conducted in the English language, you will be expected to demonstrate evidence of an adequate level of English proficiency

The admission and enrolment process includes several steps:
Prepare all documents and submit your application by filling in the form on Skoltech's web site
Online selection
Take an online test on Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, General Biology and Molecular Biology. The higher your scores, the higher your chances of moving on to the next step
Final selection
The final round takes place in Moscow. You have to pass an English exam on site or present a valid TOEFL certificate, and pass an interview
Based on the results of each applicant's overall performance, we will make a list of students to be enrolled free of charge
